Welcome One And All

The Community Kitchen Project is a collaborative effort between The Salvation Army (TSA) in Grande Prairie and The Grande Prairie Friendship Centre (GPFC) to bring hot, nutritious meals to those in need.

Through this joint collaboration, one welcoming venue has been created with the intention of serving 3 meals a day to anyone who is hungry, with dignity and care.

After opening our doors in October 2019, especially through Covid-19, the needs of our clientele are being met and nutritious meals are being appreciated.

    Serving With Dignity

After opening our doors in October 2019, our kitchen has had the opportunity to hire a red seal chef to manage the operations, and safety personnel to provide a welcoming venue for families with children.

Not only are clientele receiving quality meals, but staff now have the opportunity to attain their red seal certification.

    Our Need

Running a Community Kitchen comes with its own unique set of challenges. With COVID restrictions, rising food costs, and staffing, funding is an ongoing issue.

In order to realize our goal of serving 3 nutritious meals a day, we require an operating budget of $45,000/month. It is through our collaborating partners, grant funding, and donation that the Community Kitchen can serve those in need.
